Synchronization Agents

Synchronization Agent for

UNIX/Linux Servers

This section describes how to install and configure the Synchronization Agent

for UNIX/Linux Servers.

This Agent provides the transport mechanism for the Database Agents for

UNIX/Linux Servers and must be installed before the Database Agents.

Installing the Agent

To install the Agent, copy the installation file for your Synchronization Agent to

the /tmp directory, then run the following commands:

Where filename is the Synchronization Agent filename for your platform.

GO_ROOT Environment Variable

A GO_ROOT environment variable must be defined before you configure or

start the InSync Agents. To define the GO_ROOT variable, run the following

commands:

To automatically define the variable on login, add these commands to the

.profile.

# mkdir -p /opt/quest/insync

# cd /opt/quest/insync

# gzip -dfc /tmp/filename.zip | tar xvf -

# GO_ROOT=/opt/quest/insync

# export GO_ROOT
